Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is to decide whether to let Mario Mandzukic leave this summer, with Real Madrid at the front of the queue to land the former Bayern player.
During a press conference this morning, the tight-lipped Atletico Madrid boss told reporters that the club had yet to make a decision.
'As it stands, the only thing that I can say is that no decision has been made in relation to Mandzukic's future at the club.'
Diego Simeone went on to praise the former Bayern player, saying that 'he is a tremendous asset to the club' and that he would 'love it if he decided to stay'.
According to sources that are close to the player, Mandzukic is keen on making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu because of family-related reasons.
The bid for Mandzukic is expected to be in the region of €21 million.
