Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is to decide whether to let Jonjo Shelvey leave this summer, with Crystal Palace at the front of the queue to land the Newcastle midfielder.
During a press conference this morning, the tight-lipped Newcastle boss told reporters that the club had yet to make a decision.
'As it stands, the only thing that I can say is that no decision has been made in relation to Shelvey's future at the club.'
Rafael Benitez went on to praise the Newcastle midfielder, saying that 'he is a tremendous asset to the club' and that he would 'love it if he decided to stay'.
According to sources that are close to the player, Shelvey is keen on making the move to Selhurst Park because of family-related reasons.
The bid for Shelvey is expected to be in the region of €16 million.
