VfL Wolfsburg have slapped a €23 million price tag on Manchester United target Luiz Gustavo.
It is believed that the defensive midfielder is intent on joining Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
According to several sources, Manchester United are extremely interested in acquiring the defensive midfielder.
'He's a great asset to have', remarked one insider. 'Personally, I think that VfL Wolfsburg are mad to let him go.'
As rumours continued to spread that Gustavo would be joining Manchester United, former Liverpool player and football television pundit Jamie Carragher voiced his concerns about the move.
'I'm not sure that VfL Wolfsburg know what they are doing here. Gustavo is a terrific player and a price such as €23 million will not make up for losing him.'
Former Manchester United legend Gary Neville was in agreement with Carragher: 'Gustavo adds so much to VfL Wolfsburg that it would be ludicrous for them to sell him now.'
