West Ham have slapped a €18 million price tag on A.S. Roma target Cheikhou Kouyate.
It is believed that the former Anderlecht player is intent on joining Luciano Spalletti at the Stadio Olimpico.
According to several sources, A.S. Roma are extremely interested in acquiring the former Anderlecht player.
'He's a great asset to have', remarked one insider. 'Personally, I think that West Ham are mad to let him go.'
As rumours continued to spread that Kouyate would be joining A.S. Roma, former Liverpool player and football television pundit Jamie Carragher voiced his concerns about the move.
'I'm not sure that West Ham know what they are doing here. Kouyate is a terrific player and a price such as €18 million will not make up for losing him.'
Former Manchester United legend Gary Neville was in agreement with Carragher: 'Kouyate adds so much to West Ham that it would be ludicrous for them to sell him now.'
