FC Porto star Yacine Brahimi has asked club bosses to OK his move to St James' Park.
The Algerian winger is said to have his heart set on joining Rafael Benitez at Newcastle.
Although the move is expected to go through, negotiations are believed to have stalled on FC Porto's asking price for the player.
Newcastle's initial bid of €26 million was considered to be too low, according to club insiders.
