Gary Neville: 'Modric to VfL Wolfsburg makes sense.'

Posted 19 Jul 2018 by Sara Davidson.

Former Manchester United player Gary Neville has said that the possible transfer of Luka Modric to VfL Wolfsburg 'makes a lot of sense.'

While speaking on Sky Sports, the soccer pundit said that the move would benefit the former Spurs midfielder.

'Clearly, he isn't suited for the type of tactics that Zinedine Zidane likes to employ.'

'At VfL Wolfsburg, I think he'll be given the freedom to express himself.'

'I also think that he will get on extremely well with Dieter Hecking.'

Neville's comments were in response to reports that the former Spurs midfielder was on his way to the Volkswagen Arena for €40 million.
