Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher caused controversy last night when he claimed that David Silva wasn't 'good enough' for a team like Manchester City.
'If I were Pep Guardiola, I would be looking to off-load him as soon as possible.'
'It is clear that he is not happy at the City of Manchester Stadium and that he is not living up to the standards of the club. There are also rumours floating around that Manchester United are willing to pay €43 million for him.'
'If I were Pep Guardiola, I'd take the €43 million and drive him to the airport.'
The former Liverpool defender also went on to say that a team like Manchester City should not be giving into ridiculous contract demands.
'Let him go to Manchester United. Let him be Jose Mourinho's problem. There's no way that I'd let him hold the club to ransom.'
The statements from Carragher come on the back of reports that the Spanish playmaker had walked out of contract negotiations with the club.
