Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher caused controversy last night when he claimed that Romelu Lukaku wasn't 'good enough' for a team like Everton.
'If I were Ronald Koeman, I would be looking to off-load him as soon as possible.'
'It is clear that he is not happy at Goodison Park and that he is not living up to the standards of the club. There are also rumours floating around that Newcastle are willing to pay €38 million for him.'
'If I were Ronald Koeman, I'd take the €38 million and drive him to the airport.'
The former Liverpool defender also went on to say that a team like Everton should not be giving into ridiculous contract demands.
'Let him go to Newcastle. Let him be Rafael Benitez's problem. There's no way that I'd let him hold the club to ransom.'
The statements from Carragher come on the back of reports that the Everton striker had walked out of contract negotiations with the club.
