Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher caused controversy last night when he claimed that Nicklas Bendtner wasn't 'good enough' for a team like VfL Wolfsburg.
'If I were Dieter Hecking, I would be looking to off-load him as soon as possible.'
'It is clear that he is not happy at the Volkswagen Arena and that he is not living up to the standards of the club. There are also rumours floating around that Liverpool are willing to pay €6 million for him.'
'If I were Dieter Hecking, I'd take the €6 million and drive him to the airport.'
The former Liverpool defender also went on to say that a team like VfL Wolfsburg should not be giving into ridiculous contract demands.
'Let him go to Liverpool. Let him be Jurgen Klopp's problem. There's no way that I'd let him hold the club to ransom.'
The statements from Carragher come on the back of reports that the former Arsenal player had walked out of contract negotiations with the club.
