Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher caused controversy last night when he claimed that Patrice Evra wasn't 'good enough' for a team like Juventus.
'If I were Massimiliano Allegri, I would be looking to off-load him as soon as possible.'
'It is clear that he is not happy at Juventus Stadium and that he is not living up to the standards of the club. There are also rumours floating around that Liverpool are willing to pay €9 million for him.'
'If I were Massimiliano Allegri, I'd take the €9 million and drive him to the airport.'
The former Liverpool defender also went on to say that a team like Juventus should not be giving into ridiculous contract demands.
'Let him go to Liverpool. Let him be Jurgen Klopp's problem. There's no way that I'd let him hold the club to ransom.'
The statements from Carragher come on the back of reports that the former Manchester United player had walked out of contract negotiations with the club.
