Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher caused controversy last night when he claimed that David Alaba wasn't 'good enough' for a team like Bayern Munich.
'If I were Carlo Ancelotti, I would be looking to off-load him as soon as possible.'
'It is clear that he is not happy at the Allianz Arena and that he is not living up to the standards of the club. There are also rumours floating around that Manchester City are willing to pay €42 million for him.'
'If I were Carlo Ancelotti, I'd take the €42 million and drive him to the airport.'
The former Liverpool defender also went on to say that a team like Bayern Munich should not be giving into ridiculous contract demands.
'Let him go to Manchester City. Let him be Pep Guardiola's problem. There's no way that I'd let him hold the club to ransom.'
The statements from Carragher come on the back of reports that the Bayern left-back had walked out of contract negotiations with the club.
